NOKIA PHONES

Those days...

Nokia 1011, handportable, 1991

The black handset measured 195 x 60 x 45mm and featured a monochrome display and an extendable antenna. The memory could hold 99 phone numbers. It did not have the Nokia ringtone which was only introduced in 1994.

The phone was able to receive SMS but could not send SMS messages.

The phone weighed 475g and was rather heavier than today’s light models. A lot of the weight came from the unit’s nickel-cadmium rechargeable battery, which yielded a low – by today’s standards – talk time of just 90 minutes.
